JoJo taught me a lesson today.....

In the oddest of fashions......

See, I saw the above music video in the morning, plus today I was supposed to go KTV with a few friends at night and SHE would be there. So while the music video plays I can't help but pay attention to the words.......and you know it's true, us guys say we can go out of our way for a girl we say we care her about but does that only make us worthy of her love? We would say we take the time to understand her but does that make us worthy of her love? We say we would get out of our element for her.....but do we really?

So I decided to conduct a what started out to be silly experiment on myself. Now I hate KTV, I can't sing and there are way too many chinese songs.........but SHE would be there. It's Man Utd vs Liverpool but SHE would be at KTV.

The decision: Sacrifice the game.....get out of my element, I knew it was gonna be uncomfortable cos it's something I won't enjoy. But hey I went through with it and it was terrible! I felt soooo lost, sooo out of place..........I seemed to suddenly lack confidence cos I can't sing and I'm not very good at reading Mandarin! So die lah!

I sat at a corner struggling to be a part of the KTV session........then at 1020pm I couldn't take it, I had to go for a walk........popped in my earphones and blasted awayyyy.......Elliott Restored! Only shows I have a long way to go!

So I missed out on the game.....but I have no regrets, I'd do exactly the same thing all over again if I had to......I really wanted to see her and I was prepared to sacrifice the game! You see, we all need to come out of our elements, our comfort zones cos we as humans always claim we'd sacrifice.....and we do.......in big ways in fact. But I think sometimes the little sacrifices are the ones that are more difficult.......at least for me that is!
